When murals disappear, so do community stories. After the Logan Memorial campus murals were destroyed, they were replaced by generic artwork unconnected to Barrio Logan’s culture — a pattern we’ve seen in gentrifying neighborhoods across San Diego. BAP is working to protect these “painted history books” from whitewashing and commercial erasure.
